XMAS SALE: make this Christmas unforgettable! For women | For men
Following Microsoft’s announcement to reduce support for Internet Explorer 11 even further, along with their recommendation to switch to Microsoft Edge, we, too, have now decided not to support this browser any longer. This was a conscious decision, on the one hand in order to protect you and your data, and on the other to ensure that we can implement new technologies that Internet Explorer 11 does not support.

Discover your perfect tent

Whether you intend to put up your tent with friends in the mountains, come rain or shine, or head for a campsite with the family in the summer: every night spent out in the open air affords a special experience and requires the right tent.

But how do I decide on which model to go for?

I know what to look for

Pick your tent according to its purpose

Dome tent

Dome tent

Dome tents are somewhat more sturdy due to the tent poles crossing over to form an arch, thus resulting in higher static stability than tunnel tents. Consequently, they are better able to withstand the pressure from larger amounts of snow. They are generally self-supporting, meaning that they do not necessarily have to be additionally braced. During set-up, the inner tent is assembled first, followed by the outer tent.

Dome tent
1

More stable against the wind

The wind pressure is offset flexibly by means of various different pole diameters, meaning that the top of the tent can better withstand wind forces.
2

Optimum use of space despite the limited footprint

Due to the steeply angled poles.
3

Exceedingly easy to pitch

Thanks to the self-supporting, free-standing dome construction.

Tunnel tent

Tunnel tent

Tunnel tents offer a good space to weight ratio because they are supported by at least two pole arches running parallel to each other. The relatively large porch is ideal for cooking or for stowing equipment. Both the inner and the outer tents are generally connected to each other in some way.

Tunnel tent
1

High degree of basic tension

Meaning that guy ropes are only needed in exceptional cases.
2

Greater stability in the face of cross winds

Only a slight inclination in a wind tunnel, even at higher force wind speeds.
3

More usable space

The entire floor area of the tent can be used.
